We are aware of a number of documents in circulation regarding this year’s pay talks and confirm we have also received these.
They do not give any additional information save to say this matter is still unresolved. They provide a timeline of the events that have occurred to date and set out the difficulties facing employers and employees for the coming 2022/23 pay round.
The second document received sets out the temporary pay increases for SC1 and 2, to £9.50 an hour, which they are compelled by Law to give in order to meet the National Minimum Wage increase this coming April. These rates are still subject to any pay increase agreed with the unions.
These increases, while mandatory, of course have the effect of compressing the pay spine by raising the pay rates for these staff and bringing them closer to the start of the Clerks grades at SCP5.
